Components
for Extrusion Dies
BMI offers a complete range of wear parts and die components, including shaped components, core holders, and cores, designed to extend the lifespan of your equipment.
Manufactured from high-strength materials, these components ensure optimal extrusion performance, even in the most demanding production environments.
With their robust design, they provide enhanced wear resistance, reducing maintenance needs and maximizing the reliability of your production lines.
Our wear-resistant components
Cores
The extrusion of multi-cellular bricks requires precise geometry and uniform walls.
BMI teams offer high-strength core materials:
- High-chromium steels with heat treatment
- Chrome or complex sintered carbide coatings
Resistant to abrasion and optimizing material flow, these cores ensure controlled and consistent extrusion management.
- MF Pack® = Wear-resistant steel
- MF Fus® = Complex alloy with high tungsten carbide content: Infiltration on steel support
- MF FTC® = Solid, non-recycled tungsten carbide
- MF Duo® = MF Pack® insert + Wear-resistant tungsten carbide sintered cap
Shaped components
The combs designed by the BMI teams define the contours and dimensions of products with custom teeth and specific geometries.
They are made from a wide range of materials depending on the usage rate:
Sintered tungsten carbide and assembled in a steel comb holder
Infiltrated carbide for better resilience and resistance to breakage or flaking
High-chromium steel for an optimized cost-performance ratio
MF Pack® = Wear-resistant steel
MF Fus® = Complex alloy with high tungsten carbide content: Infiltration on steel support
MF Duo® = MF Pack® insert + wear-resistant section in sintered carbide
Core Holders
Essential supports for cores, the core holders manufactured in our workshops are custom-designed based on the specific characteristics of each client (clay, extrusion pressure, etc.).
They offer a wide range of technical solutions: surface heat treatment by carburizing and edge hardening through hardfacing to protect high-wear areas or hard chroming.
- MF Pack® = Wear-resistant steel
- MF Perf® = MF Pack® + Hardening heat treatment
- MF Cr3® = MF Pack® + Hard chroming
- MF Max® = MF Pack® with BMI FR82® shielding and MF FTC® wear-resistant bushings on core support shafts
