Wear-resistant steel
High performance
400, 450 & 500 HB
RAEX®
wear-resistant steel
Raex® AR is a high-performance wear-resistant steel designed to withstand demanding wear conditions over time, regardless of the stresses involved.
It is available in thicknesses ranging from 3 to 80 mm and in hardness levels from 400 to 500 HBW, covering a wide range of demanding industrial applications.
Produced from rigorously selected raw materials and through an integrated manufacturing process, Raex® AR ensures consistent quality in terms of hardness, flatness, surface finish, and formability.
It helps extend equipment service life, enhance performance, and reduce operating costs.

Advantages of RAEX® wear-resistant steel
Typical hardness from 400 to 500 HBW, depending on the grade (Raex® 400, 450, or 500).
Ideal for components exposed to friction or impact wear (e.g. dump bodies, armoring, extrusion parts, blades, hoppers).
High yield strength, providing excellent resistance to mechanical shocks and permanent deformation.
Good balance between hardness and toughness, making it suitable for demanding environments (e.g. handling of mineral materials, clay extrusion).
Despite its hardness, Raex® can still be machined (drilling, milling) using appropriate tooling.
Weldable using standard processes (MAG, stick welding), with precautions such as preheating based on thickness and use of compatible filler metals.
Excellent surface quality, ensuring precise fitment or controlled sliding contact.
Raex® plates are generally delivered ready-to-use with tight dimensional tolerances.
Available in thicknesses from 2 mm to over 80 mm, allowing the design of parts to be optimized based on abrasion exposure.
