RAEX® ABRASION-RESISTANT STEEL

BMI offers Raex® wear-resistant steels in several grades to meet different abrasion levels.

ADVANTAGES OF RAEX®

HIGH ABRASION RESISTANCE

Typical hardness from 400 to 500 HBW (depending on the grade: Raex® 400, 450 or 500).

Ideal for components subjected to wear from friction or impact (e.g. buckets, wear liners, extrusion parts, blades, hoppers…).

High yield strength, ensuring good resistance to mechanical impact and permanent deformation.

Good balance between hardness and toughness, making it suitable for demanding environments (e.g. mineral handling, clay extrusion…).

Despite its hardness, Raex® remains machinable (drilling, milling) with suitable tools.

Weldable using conventional processes (MAG, arc), provided appropriate precautions are taken (preheating depending on thickness, selection of compatible filler materials).

Excellent surface quality, ensuring proper fit and controlled sliding contact.

Raex® plates are generally supplied ready for use, with precise dimensional tolerances.

BMI offers Raex® wear-resistant steels designed for applications exposed to abrasion, friction and impact wear.

Available in several hardness grades, they are used to manufacture custom wear parts such as liners, hoppers, skips, blades, extraction components and welded assemblies.
